July 1, 2015
Dr. Ashok Dalwai, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, New Delhi visited Amul Dairy Anand on July 1st 2015. He was explained the Anand Pattern of cooperatives in detail before plant visit. He was amazed to see the success Amul has achieved since its inception. He admired the technology being used at Amul by the management.
It is a privilege to be penning my comments at a centre that has been founded by India's great sons including Sardar Patel, Shri Tribhuvan das Patel, Shri Morarji Desai and Dr. Verghese Kurien. Amul is a model that has brought in optimal combination of cooperative spirit, professional management principles and world class technology. It is a secret that can be replicated in other segments of India's agriculture and allied sector and contribute to the growth & development of the society dominated by the landless & small & marginal farmers.
I salute all the founders and everyone else who has contributed to an organization that India can be truly proud of. I came here as a student in 1979 and am happy to be back this day & look forward to another elaborate visit.
