Seven members of the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) team comprising Mr. Amit Sachdev, Mr. Reece Cannady, Mr. Kevin Herrick, Technical Service Director of Nutrition at POET, Mr. John Szczepanski, Dr. Pradeep Mahajan, Ms. Nayantara Pande and Ms. Pallavi Mahendru visited Amul Dairy, Anand on June 20-21, 2024. The team also visited Bovine Breeding Farm, Mogar, ARDA Semen Station, Ode, Amul Chocolate Factory Mogar, Cattle Feed Factory & Homeopathic Medicine Plant, Herbal Garden, Miyawaki Plantation, Rooftop Solar Plant, Rainwater Harvesting Systems. They also met Dr. Amit Vyas, MD Amul Dairy, to further understand the Amul activities and were impressed by the state-of-the-art production facilities, innovations & initiatives taken by Amul Dairy in the field of Animal Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Animal Health & Management, including digitalization.

Impressions:

Following the visits, the team interacted with experts from Amul Dairy, GCMMF, NDDB, and Kamdhenu University to explore the possibility of improving feed and fodder quality & availability with special reference to the use of Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS) and Alfalfa (lucerne) hay in the ration of high yielding animals.
