Recognizing the growing importance of this sector in supporting the livelihoods of millions of small, marginal, and landless farmers, this initiative marks a significant step towards improving goat nutrition, health, and productivity.
The launch event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Vipulbhai Patel (Vipul Patel), Chairman Amul Dairy, Shri Kantibhai Sodha Parmar, Vice Chairman, Shri Sanjaybhai Patel, Board Member, Dr. Amit Vyas, Managing Director, and officials of the Amul Dairy. The feed has been developed in a 25 kg pack with a 4 mm pellet size and is enriched with 16% crude protein and 2.5% crude fat. It also includes essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and herbal ingredients, formulated using high-quality traditional inputs such as soya meal, maize, barley, wheat bran, rice bran, molasses, DDGS, and salt.
This balanced nutritional solution addresses a critical gap in small ruminant care. With a daily feeding requirement of 250–300 grams per adult animal, regular supplementation can significantly enhance the growth rate, milk and wool production, and reduce mortality in lambs and kids. Designed specifically for goats and sheep, this feed aligns with Amul’s commitment to delivering scientifically validated, farmer-focused solutions that drive inclusive and sustainable rural development.
