Shri. Devendra Chaudhary, Secretary, AHD&F, Govt. of India, New Delhi visited Amul Dairy, Anand on July 2nd 2016 for an exposure visit. He was received by Dr. Rathnam, MD, Amul Dairy & Shri. R.S. Sodhi, MD, GCMMF. He was briefed the Amul model and the relevance of it in rural India for the upliftment of farmers. He was highly impressed by the technology used at Amul and the services provided by Amu to the farmers. He expressed his desire to have more than 50 such cooperatives in India for the benefit and economic prosperity of farmers.

Impressions:

It is a very inhaling experience to visit the set-up. Above all its managed by a cooperative; probably not more than 50-60 such examples globally. Needs 50 of this size in India. We need to work towards this and there would be a true quantum jump. Qudos to the management led by Shri. Sodhi. Wish all the very best.
