Shri. Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India inaugurated Amul’s new ultra-modern Feed plant at Kapdivav, Kapadvanj, Gujarat on November 30th 2015. He was accompanied by Shri. O P Kohli, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat & Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat. The president was received & welcomed by Shri. Ramsinh Parmar, Chairman, Amul Dairy, Shri. Rajendrasinh Parmar, Vice Chairman, Amul Dairy, Dr. Rathnam, MD, Amul dairy & other Board members of Amul Dairy. The President addressed a large gathering of farmers and was impressed by the way Amul has helped them in uplifting their lives through cooperative milk societies. He said that the farmer’s success can also be attributed to the fact that the entire value chain from milk production to marketing has been owned and controlled by the farmers. This model should be emulated in other agri-sectors as well. The capacity of the plant is 1000 MT per day and expandable to 2000 MT per day. Many of the technologies of this Feed Plant have been introduced in India for the first time which makes this state of the art plant very unique and technologically advanced feed manufacturing plant in India.

Visited “AMUL” after many years. It is indeed the Pride of the Nation. The place continues to be a source of inspiration for all the cooperative societies in the country.
